Guests for dinner
This week is fall break with no school. Emily has been dating her boyfriend Gage since this summer and she has been visiting him all the time at his house. So we finally got to meet him and his parents, and one of his brothers Grayson. It was really nice to meet them and I was happy to cook a quiche and salad, a beef stew (boeuf Bourguignon) with mashed potatoes, chocolate mousse and apple tart (and I tried mini almond cakes with gluten free flour).

House painted
On the 8th of October, the paint manager from Vivax visited us to discuss about the painting. His crew came on the 9th, continued to work on the 10th. On Monday 12th, they came back for touch up and collect payment. We used Sherwin-Williams paint in Felted Wood for the body, Pure White for the trim, and Tricorn Black for the accent.

Duct cleaning and HVAC
We had the ductwork cleaning today by Stanley Steemer. On October 6th and 7th, we had Mac's Maintenance to change the furnace and air conditioning system. We also had the house power washed the other day in preparation of the paint, as well as some sidings repaired on the house.

Adeline's Birthday...
I turned 52. We didn't have any plans following Emily's surgery. Emily stayed at home to rest so she missed school for 2 days. Also today, Ivan and I went to the High School and met the teachers for the conference, while Yohan and his friend Jake volunteered with Link Crew to serve drinks and snacks to the teachers. We missed Emily's boyfriend Gage who stopped by and dropped off a beautiful bouquet of roses for Emily.

Emily 2nd Sclerotherapy
Today, we had Emily scheduled for her 2nd IR sclerotherapy with Dr. Collard for her lymphatic malformation. We arrived before 8 am at Children's Hospital Anschutz Campus. This time, the anesthesiologist used different medicine and Emily didn't feel nauseous like last time. The surgical procedure went well. Emily was released around 1 pm. We don't know yet if we need a 3rd intervention or just an ultra-sound visit to check how the lymphatic pockets shrank. After fasting, Emily was very hungry and was craving for In'n'Out burger, even though she was supposed to have a lighter (healthier) meal. This afternoon she is feeling fine, but we'll see about her swelling and bruising by tomorrow.
